Live

Living away from home can be a challenge. Everything is new - the language, the culture, the food, the environment and the people. While this can be exciting it can also lead to culture shock and homesickness.

The staff of the international department at Vancouver Community College is here to help you adjust to your new home by providing you with support and services that meet your needs.

Until you become accustomed to Vancouver, we suggest you live with a Canadian homestay family.

Life outside the classroom is a big part of your experience in Vancouver. To help you meet new friends and enjoy the many sights and events around the city, we have a special recreation program for international students. Activities include recreation, sightseeing, adventure, cultural events and out-of-town excursions.

It will be very important to take care of your health & well-being while you are in Vancouver. VCC provides you with Counselling, Medical and Health Services to support you for the time you are here.

Your safety is also very important to us. Both VCC campuses have security offices to ensure that everyone is in a secure environment. VCC International also has videos and resources if you wish to learn some basic tips about keeping safe in Vancouver.
